KNITTING MARATHON

Over the past few months, members and friends of St.H.M.C. have been busily knitting scarves with a triple purpose!

The aim was to make enough scarves to go right around the interior of the church, to get individual sponsorships or donations, and to donate all of them to Mustard Seed to be taken to Romania.

The final total exceeded all our expectations -  the scarves were laid end to end up and down the aisles and into the vestibule and the total count was 114 !   A quick calculation worked out that there were approximately 330 feet of knitting, such a kaleidoscope of colour but mostly the same length of between 36 and 48 inches.   The money raised at the time totalled an amazing £925 and still coming in, all towards our church funds.   Mary Osmand from Mustard Seed came to the Sunday morning service to see the" big count up" and was able to take the scarves with her to be put in their shoeboxes.
